Making the most of Danksgiving 2020 | Infused Thanksgiving

November is the month of gratitude, and we have so much to be thankful for – even in the ups and downs of 2020. Our holiday celebrations will look a little different this year and with that comes opportunity to choose new ways to make the most of the season. If the meal is up to you this year, why not try adding a little infusion for the adults at the table? Just you and your boo? Why not wake n’ bake your way through those pies? Let’s make the most of our weird holiday season. Here are some ideas to help you brainstorm! Remember, even if you’re an at-home infusing pro, we don’t recommend you try all of these at once and if you’re dining with others – make sure that your special dishes are clearly marked for consenting adults only.

Want to watch the virtual parade in the morning? Kick off the day with a hot cup of coffee and capsules from Ceres. These Lifted Sativa are the perfect little kick of THC to get your day going and keep you cooking all day long. If you’re new to coffee with cannabis, remember to take it slow and start low. Infusing can sneak up on you if you’re not careful and mixing THC and caffeine can be a lot if you’re not used to it.

Infusing a large turkey might not pan out, but infused gravy is easy to make! Pair it as a side with your traditional gravy to add some cannabis to the meal without overdoing it. Mix the two on your plate to enjoy control over your dosage and still get the right gravy-to-potato ratio. We recommend Green Revolution’s Journey tincture. It’s water-based, so it will mix with the fats in the gravy without overpowering its flavor. Remember, you can’t rely on flavor to tell your dosage with infused dishes. Low and slow is the name of the game.

Looking for a flavorful gravy-less alternative? Try a batch of infused mashed potatoes. We recommend Yukon gold taters, cream cheese, chives and the magic ingredient – Green Revolutions Relief 250. With a 20:1 ratio of CBD, this tincture is also water-based and should mix well with the fats of the cream cheese and butter.

Maybe you don’t want to fully mix your sides with your cannabis fun. Instead of infusing your cranberries, try pairing them with an edible that will complement their sweet tart-y good-ness. We recommend the Sinners and Saints Energy shot in pomegranate. The pomegranate will mix with the intense cranberry flavors for an explosion of fruity fun. Keep in mind, these little treats are called Energy Shots for a reason and have plenty of caffeine in them.

This year for dessert, don’t let the pumpkin pie be lonely. Bring one of the best artisan dessert edibles on the market to the table: the red velvet cheesecake swirl brownie from THC Express. This infused red velvet cheesecake is made with true cannabutter, not distillate, for flavors that remind you of home. Each of these little bites is a full dose, so they’re great for splitting if you’ve enjoyed other Danksgiving treats during the meal. We suggest even letting your main meal settle for a while before digging in to dessert, remember Dreamers – low and slow.

We hope these help you find some inspiration for your stay-at-home Thanksgiving, or should we say Danksgiving this year. Remember, when dealing with infused food, always work your way in slowly and don’t over-add your cannabis products. A little goes a long way. Go slow or the turkey might not be the only thing making you feel like you need an afternoon nap. Please celebrate responsibly!
