There’s a familiar face leading the crew these days! Scott, previously one of our budtenders, has taken on the position of Manager for us. To celebrate his new role we asked Scott some questions about himself, so you can get to know him!
What is your job title, and what does it involve?
Agate Dreams Manager. My job varies from day to day. It can be anything from dealing with the latest issues to budtending and interacting with customers. Generally speaking, it is oversight of the Agate Dreams store.
How is cannabis different from your past retail experience?
I owned a grocery store and a distribution route before coming to Agate Dreams. The main thing I did notice is the customers seem to be in a good mood.
How long have you been with Agate Dreams?
It will be 3 years in July.
What is the best part about your job?
Trying out new products of course!
What was your experience with cannabis before working in the industry?
I have been a medical user since the early 2000’s living in California. I have been a strong supporter ever since.
What is the most common question you get on the sales floor?
Besides being asked if a farm is pesticide-free, the next most common would be extraction methods used on vape cartridges. I also spend a lot of time explaining CBD products to new users.
What do you think the future brings for the cannabis industry?
I hope to see more companies listing the terpene/cannabinoid details. A lot of people use cannabis for reasons other than recreational. It would take a lot of the guesswork away, allowing the consumer to dictate the type of experience they are trying to achieve.
What is some knowledge that is critical to your job?
TERPENES! It’s not just about a number. I can fine-tune your experience based on the terpene profile, and there is a wide range of profiles to try. Examples of this: Pine notes and floral notes can provide very different experiences.
How do cannabis brands stand out to you?
There are so many companies out there today, the first thing that usually draws me in is their packaging. I am very much a visual shopper!
Where can people find you, how can they get in touch?
I can be reached here at the store!
